Director of Youth Ministry

Located in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, Manchester United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry. This person is responsible for offering a safe, attractive and exciting environment for youth in grades 6 to 12 to grow spiritually, create community with other youth, and engage in missional service to others. This person casts vision and directs efforts for programs that welcome youth of all backgrounds to help them take meaningful steps in their faith journey.

This person must be a team player who is called to full-time youth ministry. This person will be relationally-driven and an effective leader, manager, teacher and creative thinker who partners with youth and their influencers (parents, siblings, teachers, coaches, congregation, etc.) to help youth experience how much God loves them.

Circle of Friends Preschool Assistant Director

Circle of Friends Preschool is seeking a new part-time Assistant Director. This person provides leadership and support to the preschool as a member of the Administrative Team. This person serves as a resource to our teachers and students both in and out of the classroom. The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring that our school meets and exceeds State Regulations for safety. This person is expected to maintain educational and student supply inventory, as well as foster relationships with preschool families through our Parents As Leaders (PALs) group and other opportunities. Additionally, the Assistant Director oversees the processing of all student tuitions, school payroll hours, and account payables. This person will be a compassionate and collaborative leader, who is committed to, and supports, the vision and mission of Manchester UMC, its leadership, and Circle of Friends Preschool.

The Assistant Director is a part time position with approximately 30 hours per week August through May and 20-25 hours per week in June and July.

The ideal candidate would have a degree  in education or finance fields, as well as experience in both an educational and a ministry or non-profit roles. Educational Administration or non-profit leadership is a plus.

Director of Missions

Located in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, Manchester United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time Director of Missions to partner with our pastors, staff, ministry leaders and congregation to harness the passion, talents and resources of the church to help vulnerable individuals move toward thriving self-sufficiency. This person will help people of all ages and backgrounds understand, experience and respond to God's call to missional living. 

The people of Manchester UMC seek to foster dignity and hope for vulnerable individuals in our communities, region, nation and world. The Director of Missions is responsible for recommending, equipping and championing strategies and teams necessary to achieve this objective. 

The Director of Missions will work 20 hours per week with 4 of those hours usually occurring on Sunday mornings. The weekday schedule is flexible according to ministry needs. This role will have access to 10 hours of administrative support weekly to assist with administrative tasks and access to our Communications Department.

Qualified candidates will have an undergraduate degree with previous experience leading missional programs or activities.  Theological training or church staff experience is a plus.

If you’re a dependable, detail-oriented person who has a flexible schedule and reliable transportation, this job could be for you. This is part-time (20 hours per week) position assisting the ministry at Manchester United Methodist Church by providing a neat, clean environment for people to worship and grow in their faith.

Job Functions:

  • Mop, sweep and scrub floors and other surfaces.
  • Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings.
  • Clean and service restrooms.
  • Launder, fold and restock kitchen towels as needed.
  • Collect waste paper and recyclables.
  • Collect debris removed from the buildings and place in outside containers for removal by truck.
  • Report items that require repair.
  • Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment as directed.
  • Help with physical set ups in the buildings and on the grounds for meetings and performances, such as concerts, lectures, etc.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by designated supervisor.


  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand written material and instructions.
  • Must be able to spend majority of shift walking, twisting, bending, pushing, stooping, and pulling.
  • Must be capable of working in a fast- paced environment with multiple interruptions.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Prior related experience preferred.

Openings for Substitute Teachers for Circle of Friends Preschool
Circle of Friends Preschool at Manchester UMC is looking for someone to join our team of excellent teachers as a Substitute Teacher. We offer a play-based educational experience for children ages 1-5, emphasizing not just academics, but also social and emotional growth. We seek to help our students learn and grow in independence, self confidence, and knowledge. An ideal candidate for our substitute teaching team loves inspiring young children to learn and supporting our teaching team members across the grade levels to enhance our curriculum and school environment.

The Nursery Ministry at Manchester UMC is looking for loving, nurturing people (18 and over) with a working knowledge of early childhood development to join our nursery team of childcare providers.
