Prescription Drug Takeback On Sunday
As a follow-up to our successful Prescription to Addiction event, we’ve partnered with the Manchester Police Department to collect unneeded and expired prescription drugs from 8:30-11a on Apr. 29. Drop off is at the west entrance of the building by the parked Manchester Police car. Help reduce the abuse of prescription drugs in our community!

New Website Coming Soon
Soon you’ll be able to surf our full website on any device: smartphone, tablet, or PC, without squinting! The site has a contemporary look and is more visitor friendly. Yet, all the info church members need is still there, at the same address. We’ll announce more later. Stay tuned.
 
MUNY Tickets On Sale!
Manchester UMC night at the MUNY is Wed., July 25 at 8:15 p.m. You’ll enjoy the award-winning musical, ‘Annie,’ featuring unforgettable hits like ‘It’s a  Hard Knock Life,’ ‘Easy Street,’ and ‘Tomorrow.’ Group tickets are in 3 sections:

  • Back of sections A3-A6 $45.00 (normally $60)
  • Front of sections B3-B9 $34.50 (normally $46)
  • Back of sections B3-B-9 $23.25 (normally $31)

Driver Safety Course

Driving has changed since you got your license! Learn how to refresh your skills, save money on your insurance, and find useful information and guidance about getting around. Materials Cost: $15 (AARP members) and $20 (nonmembers). Led by Don Dimmich. Register online.
 
Holiday Brass Tickets On Sale
Sun., May 20, beginning at 8:45a
We will be selling tickets for the Mon., Dec. 3, 2:15p, and Tues., Dec. 4, 2:15 and 8:00p Holiday Brass concerts. Tickets cannot be reserved in advance and purchases are limited to 4 per customer. If we sell out, there will be order forms marked MUMC that you can mail to the IWBC by June 1 to receive the price of $24 each.
 
Carnegie Hall Preview Concert
Sun., June 3, 7p
Combined choirs join forces to present ‘Spirit Suites,’ three collections of spirituals arranged by Mark Hayes. This concert will be presented in Carnegie Hall in New York later in the month. Free and open to the public. Invite friends, neighbors, and relatives!

New! Personal Essentials Ministry
Our new Personal Essentials Ministry, in partnership with Circle of Concern Food Pantry, needs basic personal care items that food stamps don’t cover — toilet paper, shampoo, tampons, razors, and shaving cream. Drop donations outside the Fireside Rm. Financial support also welcome. Questions? Contact Barbara Curry or Cindy Wolk.
 
Habitat for Humanity STL needs YOU
Sat., May 5, 7a-4p
We are partnering with Habitat for Humanity StL to build affordable housing. Anyone age 16 or older is eligible. All skill levels welcomed. This is a great way to get community service hours and make a difference for families. There are also ongoing Wed. work dates. Transportation from church and tools are provided. Join the MO-Hab Riders
Now in our 21st year, MO-Hab Riders pedals to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity. Our goal this year is $26,000. Try us out at one of our Sat. training rides. Check the schedule on our website Questions? Contact Joyce Smith, 314-602-9346.

CHILDREN

VBS 2018 – Rolling River Rampage
June 24-29
Kids age 4 by July 31 (and potty-trained) through 5th Grade (Fall 2018) are invited on a white water rafting adventure. Through Bible stories, music, games, science, crafts, and our annual service project, students will learn that God’s Rafters can find adventure, acceptance, joy, rest, and peace on the river! PRAYground Needs You!
Our 9:30 and 11a PRAYground station needs two adult volunteers who are Safe Sanctuary trained. Spend time with our 3-year-old thru 2nd grade (up to 5th grade) friends during the sermon only. Everything will be planned and ready for you. You are needed one Sunday per month. To help, email Chessey Brenton.
 
Summer Sunday School Teachers
We are preparing for our 9:30a Summer Sunday School program which starts June 3. We are currently looking for lead and assistant teachers for all classes 3s-5th grade. No prior teaching experience is necessary. Orientation and training is provided, and all must be willing to be Safe Sanctuary certified. Email Chessey Brenton for more info.

Senior Recognition Luncheon
